Terms of Service

Welcome to Ghar. These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding End-User License Agreement ("EULA") between you and Ghar ("we," "our," or "us") governing your use of the Ghar mobile application (the "Licensed Application" or "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Ghar App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
2. License Grant
The App is licensed, not sold, to you. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, and as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (the "Usage Rules"). This license does not allow you to use the App on any device that you do not own or control, and you may not distribute or make the App available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time.
3. Description of Service
Ghar is a Hindu home practice application that provides:
- Step-by-step walkthrough guides for daily rituals, festivals, and life events.
- A smart panchang (Hindu calendar) with location-aware calculations.
- A practice library organized by category, tradition, and difficulty level.
- Educational articles about Hindu traditions, symbols, deities, and philosophy.
- Household profile management with family mode features.
- Audio pronunciation guides for mantras and shlokas.
Ghar is a practice guide, not a replacement for personal spiritual guidance. All content is curated by human editors and reviewed by qualified scholars. No content is generated by artificial intelligence.
4. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account.
- If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
- The household profile feature allows parents to include children's information; this is managed entirely by the parent or guardian.
5. Account Registration
- You may create one account per Apple ID.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You agree to provide accurate household information for the purpose of personalizing your experience.
- You may delete your account at any time through My Home > Settings > Delete Account. Upon deletion, all your personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
6. Subscriptions and Billing
6.1 Free Tier
The free tier includes access to the Smart Panchang, one daily Seed-level practice, a rotating selection of library practices and Learn articles, and the Diwali festival guide. No credit card is required.
6.2 Premium Subscriptions
Premium features are available through the following subscription plans:
- Monthly: $7.99/month (or regional equivalent)
- Annual: $59.99/year (or regional equivalent)
- Family Annual: $89.99/year for up to 6 household members (or regional equivalent)
Prices are in U.S. dollars and may vary by region. The actual price will be displayed in your local currency before you confirm the purchase.
6.3 Free Trial
New subscribers may be eligible for a 7-day free trial. The trial provides full Premium access. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the plan price you selected. Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
6.4 Payment and Renewal
- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account (iTunes Account) at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same subscription rate.
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions by going to your Apple ID Account Settings after purchase.
- Price changes will be communicated in advance and will require your consent where required by applicable law.
6.5 Refunds
Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store's refund policy. Please visit Apple's refund support page or contact Apple Support directly.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws. You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Ghar's content (practices, articles, audio, illustrations) without our written permission.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
- Use the App for any commercial purpose without our authorization.
- Attempt to bypass subscription restrictions or access Premium content without a valid subscription.
- Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our services.
- Misrepresent Ghar's content as your own or as official religious doctrine.
8. Content and Intellectual Property
8.1 Our Content
All content in the App including practice guides, articles, illustrations, audio recordings, the Ghar logo and brand mark, UI design, and software is owned by Ghar or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
8.2 Sacred Texts
Mantras, shlokas, and other sacred texts reproduced in the App are drawn from traditional sources and are presented for personal spiritual practice. Translations and transliterations are original works by our editorial team.
8.3 Your Content
Any data you create within the App (household profiles, practice history, bookmarks, custom collections) remains yours. You grant us a limited license to store and process this data solely to provide the App's services to you.
9. Disclaimer of Religious Authority
Ghar is an educational and practice-support tool. While our content is curated with care and reviewed by qualified scholars and practitioners:
- We do not claim to represent any specific guru, temple, or religious institution.
- Ghar is not a substitute for personal spiritual guidance from a qualified teacher or guru.
- Hindu practice varies widely by tradition, region, family custom, and personal preference. Our guides present common approaches and note where variations exist.
- We encourage users to consult their family traditions and local temple communities alongside using the App.
10. Maintenance and Support
Ghar is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services with respect to the App, as specified in these Terms or as required under applicable law. You and Ghar acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the App.
11. Availability and Modifications
- We strive to keep the App available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
- We may update, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
- Content (practices, articles, festival guides) may be added, updated, or revised over time to improve accuracy and completeness.
- If we discontinue the App entirely, we will provide at least 60 days' notice and the opportunity to export your data.
12. Warranty Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the App to you (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be Ghar's sole responsibility.
13. Product Claims
You and Ghar acknowledge that Ghar, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App, including but not limited to:
- Product liability claims.
- Any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement.
- Claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation, including in connection with the App's use of HealthKit and HomeKit frameworks (if applicable).
14. Intellectual Property Claims
You and Ghar acknowledge that, in the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Ghar, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
- Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- We are not responsible for any spiritual or religious outcomes from following practices in the App.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ghar, its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
17. Termination
- You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, with notice where practicable.
- Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases, and you must destroy all copies of the App. Provisions that by their nature should survive (Sections 8, 12–16, 18–19) will continue in effect.
18. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
19. Export Compliance
You represent and warrant that: (a) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (b) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You agree to comply with all applicable export and re-export control laws and regulations when using the App.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via email at least 30 days before taking effect. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with updated Terms, you may delete your account and stop using the App.
21. Apple-Specific Terms and Third-Party Beneficiary
These Terms are between you and Ghar only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Ghar, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content. Your use of the App must comply with the App Store Terms of Service.
You and Ghar acknowledge and agree that:
- Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the App.
- In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- Ghar, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims you or any third party may have relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App, including but not limited to: (a) product liability claims; (b) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (c) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
- In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Ghar, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
